Rosslyn Chapel Interior

Because we had so many beautiful pictures of Rosslyn, I needed to split them up so the pages weren't so slow to download. Below, are the interior shots of the Chapel.

The sculptor responsible for a lot of the intricate work in the chapel had an apprentice. When the boss had to be away for awhile the apprentice finished the pillar on the right below. Proving the adage that "no good deed goes unpunished", upon his return, in a jealous rage the sculptor hit the apprentice on the head with a wooden mallet and killed him. The sculptor was later executed for the murder.

Recognize the symbols in this carving These three pictures are from the basement of Rosslyn Chapel. The photo top left of the angel holding a Knight Templar shield didn't appear to be painted until I took the digital photograph of it.

Above is another tomb of a Knight.

Rosslyn Chapel is a wonderful magical place. One of the places that should be on your list of things to see before you die.

After a long day of sightseeing at Rosslyn Chapel -
where else would we wind up but at Clark's Bar!
